2005

Disposable tub liners used reusable jet

Magnetic jets were introduced as a hygienic alternative to traditional piped systems, using magnets to circulate water without plumbing. While they reduce the risk of bacteria buildup in pipes, they still require regular cleaning. If not properly maintained, water residue and contaminants can accumulate in the jet mechanism, potentially leading to bacterial growth and compromising hygiene.

1993

Pipeless jet

Pipeless jets emerged as an innovation in pedicure chairs to improve hygiene. By eliminating plumbing, they prevented bacteria and mold buildup inside pipes, making them easier to clean. This advancement offered salons a more sanitary, efficient, and low-maintenance solution for pedicures.

1989

Piped Jet

The piped jet system was introduced as part of the evolution of pedicure chair technology, using plumbing to circulate water and provide a stronger massage than basic tubs. However, the downside was the buildup of bacteria and mold in the pipes, which led to the development of pipeless jets, eliminating the need for plumbing.

1985

Plastic Tub

In the early history of pedicures, foot care was simple, with ancient civilizations like Egypt, Greece, and Rome using basic foot baths filled with warm water, herbs, or oils for relaxation and hygiene. Pedicures were done while clients sat on chairs or stools with their feet in basins on the floor. The focus was mainly on soaking, scrubbing, and nail trimming.
